Herausforderungen globaler Gesundheitskrisen: Die zunehmende > Ungewissheit
über die Zukunft ist zu einem bestimmenden Merkmal > unserer Zeit
geworden. Mit den _Promotionsstipendien _„_Uncertainty_“ > reagiert die
ZEIT STIFTUNG BUCERIUS auf diese gesellschaftlichen > Herausforderungen.
Das Programm ist für Doktorand:innen aus den > Geistes-, Sozial-,
Wirtschafts- und Rechtswissenschaften offen, die > sich mit dem Themenfeld
der globalen Ungewissheit auseinandersetzen. > Bewerbungen sind ab sofort
möglich.
Wir leben in Zeiten globaler Ungewissheit – das ist der Tenor vieler >
aktueller Debatten. Es gibt zahlreiche Gründe, warum vermeintliche >
Gewissheiten über den Verlauf gesellschaftlicher, wirtschaftlicher > oder
politischer Entwicklungen ihre Orientierungskraft verlieren > (oder bereits
verloren haben). Wo die Grundlagen für Einschätzungen, > Entscheidungen
und Handlungen infrage stehen, kommt ein Bedürfnis > nach Orientierung auf
– für Individuen, Gruppen und Gesellschaften. > Dieses Bedürfnis greift
tief und erfordert es, neue Perspektiven > einzunehmen und Ungewissheit von
anderen Formen der Offenheit zu > unterscheiden: Während in
Entscheidungssituationen unter „Risiko“ > bekannte, kalkulierbare
Alternativen und unter „Unsicherheit“ > bekannte, aber nicht mehr
kalkulierbare Alternativen bestehen, > meinen wir mit „Ungewissheit“
einen Zustand, in dem weder > Alternativen noch Wahrscheinlichkeiten
bekannt sind.
Dem Zustand der „Ungewissheit“ widmet sich das neue >
interdisziplinäre, internationale Stipendienprogramm „Uncertainty“ >
der ZEIT STIFTUNG BUCERIUS in Zusammenarbeit mit der Bucerius Law > School.
Es bündelt Perspektiven aus den Geistes-, Sozial-, > Wirtschafts- und
Rechtswissenschaften von Doktorand:innen, die > dieses Thema in seiner
Komplexität beleuchten. Darüber hinaus > fördern wir mit diesem Programm
Ideen, interdisziplinären Austausch, > gegenseitiges Lernen und Vernetzung
durch Workshops und jährliche > Konferenzen.
„Wenn die Zukunft ungewiss ist, müssen wir uns von der „Illusion der >
Berechenbarkeit“ endgültig verabschieden. Denn Zahlen geben uns > keine
Orientierung mehr: Wir müssen anders denken, anders > entscheiden, anders
führen, anders kommunizieren“, sagt Prof. Dr. > Burkhard Schwenker,
Kuratoriumsvorsitzender der ZEIT STIFTUNG > BUCERIUS. „Das fordert uns
wirtschaftlich, juristisch und > gesellschaftlich heraus – deswegen
engagiert sich die ZEIT STIFTUNG > BUCERIUS: Auf der Suche nach neuen
Wegen, um auch zukünftig > Orientierung geben zu können.“
„Uncertainty“ umfasst Stipendien für verschiedene Promotionsphasen. >
Sechsmonatige „Start Up Scholarships“ sind mit einem monatlichen >
Betrag von 1.400 Euro dotiert, „Ph.D Scholarships“ (Laufzeit ein bis >
drei Jahre) sowie „Dissertation Completion Scholarships“ (Laufzeit: >
ein Jahr) mit je 1.600 Euro monatlich. Bewerbungen sind ab sofort > bis zum
